Many people have had many different victories in life. Some have had victory over cancer, disease, or personal hardships. Others have accomplished great things like olympic medals or achieved great victories over tremendous competitors. However, have you ever thought about what is the greatest victory in your life? Everyone has a personal problem over which they need victory.

Romans 3:23

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

We all have a sin complex. It is part of our humanity. We naturally do things that violate God’s law, the Bible.

1 John 3:4

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

There is a penalty for sin. Eternity in hell is the punishment for those in transgression of God’s Word.

Romans 6:23a

“For the wages (payment) of sin is death…”

Since we have sin and are imperfect, we cannot enter heaven which is perfect because we “…fall short of the glory of God.”

We must and we can have victory over sin and its punishment in order to go to Heaven and escape the eternal fires of hell. God saw our need and provided a Saviour to pay the price for our sin - the Lord Jesus.

Romans 5:8

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 6:23b

“…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Jesus said in John 3:3

“…Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Romans 10:9 & 10

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

You can have victory over sin and its punishment and that victory is the greatest victory that anyone can have. This victory can only be found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:4

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

1 Corinthians 15:57

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
